PTC Mathcad Prime 10

Mathcad Prime 10 enables engineers to perform, document, and share complex engineering calculations using traditional mathematical notation.

Complex Calculations Made Simple

The biggest improvement over previous versions of Mathcad is that Mathcad Prime is so easy to use. It is the first solution to enable users to simultaneously solve and document engineering calculations in a single reusable worksheet, which can be saved or easily converted to several formats.

Mathcad Prime 10’s intuitive interface combines live, standard math notation, text, and graphs in a presentable format, which enables knowledge capture, reuse, and design verification for improved product quality.

What’s new in Mathcad Prime 10:

Mathcad Prime 10 focuses on advanced controls to scripting as well as other usability improvements.

  • Application Updates:
    • Advanced controls: Users can now precisely define the behaviors of specific controls within the worksheet with tools to add boxes, radio buttons, checkboxes, buttons, sliders, and text boxes. This provides a configurable and detailed way to manipulate variable values through VBScript and JScript scripting.
    • Choice of solving algorithms: Users can choose the solving algorithms for functions and definitive integrals such as pdeslove, odesolve,  numol, genfit, polyroots, find, minimize, maximize, minerr and algorithms for calculating definite integrals.
    • Subscript and superscript: Users can apply superscript and subscript formatting in text regions for variable identifiers and parameters with exponents.
  • Symbolic Engine Enhancements:
    • Expanded use of ‘fully’ keyword: Additional use cases have been added for the keyword ‘fully’ in Mathcad Prime 10, including support for modifiers ‘fact’ and ‘max’.
    • New ‘standard’ keyword: The new ‘standard’ keyword supports Big-O notation with series expansion and the ability to show constant integration in indefinite integrals.
    • Improved support for ‘undefined’: There is now increased compatibility and equivalency with the numeric engine’s NaN, allowing for symbolic support for NaN class functions.
    • General keyword improvements: General improvements have been made for the keywords ‘rewrite’, ‘solve’, and ‘simplify’.
  • Numeric Engine Enhancements:
    • Partial Differential Equation (PDE) solving: Solving with pdesolve now includes support to set mixed boundary conditions, implicit and explicit boundary conditions, and units intelligence within PDE systems.
    • Multithreading improvements: New improvements support full functionality to increase the efficiency of worksheet calculations.
